On June 19, 2024, the 30th Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) opened at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. China Publishing Group (CPG) participated in an exhibition featuring its subsidiary publishers. Huang Zhijian, Chairman of China Publishing Group, briefed the central leadership on CPG’s participation at the event. Chang Bo, President of CPG, alongside other members of the CPG’s management team, also attended the event. With the theme “Deepening Mutual Learning Among Civilizations and Cooperating for a Win-Win Future”, the fair leveraged the unique role of books and culture in connecting people, facilitating cross-cultural, international, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the global publishing community.
At the BIBF, China Publishing Group Co., Ltd. set up a 764-square-metre exhibition zone with six key areas showcasing CPG’s publications on diverse topics. These included (1) volume 1–3 of the Revitalization Library, (2) representative publications from major publishers of the group, (3) key publications related to modern Chinese civilization and fine traditional Chinese culture, (4) publications on the history of area studies, (5) publications about Marco Polo and an introduction to CNPIEC’s cultural creative exhibition “Marco Polo’s Wondrous Journey”, (6) and digital publications such as the Encyclopedia of China (Third Edition) Online, ancientbooks.cn by Zhonghua Book Company, and SDX’s media platform “Zhongdu”. A total of 18 publishers under the Group, including People’s Literature Publishing House, The Commercial Press, Zhonghua Book Company, and Encyclopedia of China Publishing House, displayed over 1,200 types of books and were expected to host over 60 exchange activities for publishers at the event.

Echo, published by People’s Literature Publishing House, won the 11th Mao Dun Literature Prize.
