Chang Bo and Zhang Jichen Attend the 6th CPG Book Fest

On the morning of June 19, the opening ceremony of the 6th CPG Book Fest, hosted by China Publishing Group Co., Ltd. and organized by China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNPIEC), was successfully held in Beijing. Chang Bo, President and Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, China Publishing Group Co., Ltd., attended the event and witnessed the opening ceremony, while Zhang Jichen, Vice President of China Publishing & Media Co., Ltd., attended the event and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Zhang Jichen said that the Book Fest has evolved from an innovative experiment into a digital Silk Road that fosters cross-civilizational exchange. This edition of the Book Fest will build upon past successes, striving to create a digital publishing engine, deepen offline cultural dissemination networks, and advance upgrades in brand collaboration, further refining its services and enhancing efficiency. China Publishing Group Co., Ltd. stands ready to join hands with overseas libraries, distributors, and other partners to expand the Book Fest’s global influence, creating a comprehensive, efficient, and multidimensional international communication framework for high-quality Chinese publishing products.

At the opening ceremony, Li Hongwen, President and Secretary of the CPC Committee of CNPIEC, said that since the inaugural Book Fest in 2020, CNPIEC has consistently strived to make excellent publications of China known to the world through continuous exploration and iteration. Moving forward, CNPIEC will fully leverage the Group’s resource strengths across the industrial chain, develop with digital innovation as the drive, and establish a global dissemination matrix integrating content, channels, and services.

Zhao Dong, President and Secretary of the Party Committee of Rongbaozhai Publishing House Co., Ltd.; Zhu Runxiao, head of the East Asian Library at the University of Pittsburgh; Ye Bing, President and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Zhonghua Book Company; Prof. Dr. Marc Winter, Professor of Chinese Studies at the Institute of Asia and Oriental Studies, University of Zurich, Switzerland; and Liu Yongchun, Executive Director (President) and Editor-in-Chief of China Translation & Publishing House Co., Ltd., attended the event. Representatives from over 50 overseas libraries, including Princeton University (USA), The Ohio State University (USA), and the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (Inalco, France), joined the event, exchanging their ideas on fostering closer collaboration and facilitating China-Western academic dialogue.

Spanning six months, the 6th CPG Book Fest blends online and offline promotion models, creating a dynamic communication network across multiple platforms and devices. It seeks to build a global ecosystem for showcasing and distributing Chinese books, promote well-crafted titles, and leverage technology to enhance reading experiences, aiming to expand the global influence of CPG’s brands and contribute to building China’s cultural strength through better publications.
