As a member of the China Publishing Group, Encyclopedia of China Publishing House (ECPH), which was founded in 1978, has become one of the largest publishing enterprises in China. It has two imprints: Knowledge Publishing House and China Encyclopedia Electronic Audio and Video Press.
Over more than forty years, ECPH has not only accomplished the initial mission of compiling the first encyclopedia of modern China, but also formed its own featured production lines of encyclopedias, reference books, academic readings, children's books, popular science readings, as well as digital publications. In cooperation with more than 100 publishers in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and abroad—including those in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Russia, and Japan—ECPH has exported and imported over 1,000 titles. ECPH is working on the third edition of the Encyclopedia of China, which is designed with the function of an online encyclopedia and serves as a national platform for the production, distribution and communication of common knowledge.
