This book is written by Shanghai’s writer Xizhen, who has walked through every corner of the city alone for more than ten years, describing 12 historical and cultural districts in Shanghai with the spirit of a treasure hunter and an explorer's eyes. She explores more than 130 excellent historic buildings distributed in these districts, having witnessed the prosperity of Shanghai in history. After going through a long history, these scenic areas have been preserved to become carriers of urban's history and culture, along with the epitomes of Shanghai's urban development.
