Wang Hongchao
王宏超

Graduated from Fudan University with a PhD in literature, Professor Wang Hongchao has been teaching in the School of Humanities, Shanghai Normal University. He also serves as a doctoral supervisor, dean of the Department of Chinese Language and head of teaching in the sector of studies of art and literature. His main research field is aesthetics, art theory and the history of Chinese aesthetics. In the past few years, his research has been focused on the social life of ancient China and the aesthetics of everyday ancient Chinese life. He has published several books including Daily Life of Ancient People (revised edition with color, 2022), The Invention of Aesthetics in Modern China: Origin, Disciplinarity and Genealogy of Knowledge (2022) and so on.
