In the People offers a panoramic view of the Chinese people’s enthusiastic support for the Communist Party of China (CPC) during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation. The author started collecting materials through interview and other methods in March 2007. He interviewed hundreds of senior citizens who used to provide logistical support for the CPC during the wartime and their descendants. The notes the author made during these interviews run several tens of millions of words, and the total word count of historical materials the author read in order to write the book reached more than one hundred million. The book contains many historical facts that are disclosed for the first time.
