This book is written by Wang Shi, founder of China Vanke, to recount his global canal rowing project that began in Glasgow, UK in 2021.

In the chronological order, the book reproduces Wang’s journey along 14 national canals, with each chapter devoting to the story in one country. The book describes the history and customs of the Eastern and Western canal cities, as well as cases about environmental protection, sports exchanges, and international carbon neutrality practices.

Wang also talks about the changes he has experienced since his retirement, including his positive attitude towards the pandemic, focus shift from public welfare to re-entrepreneurship, persistence and promotion of sports especially for rowing and rock climbing, strong awareness of climate change and environmental protection, and promotion of the carbon neutrality that has attracted public attention.
